WANTED…Sales People for Expanding Company

If reports are to be believed, Britain is officially out of recession, but only just. Critics say it will be months, if not years until employment levels have recovered. One company who have been bucking the recession trend and continuing to recruit is Alderley Edge based Chess Telecom, and this February is no different.

On Thursday 18th of February between 6-8pm, Chess will be holding its 3rd recruitment open evening, this time aimed with the sole intention of recruiting into its sales teams.

Chess people get more than just a job when they join the company. Chess is committed to looking after its people, seeing their development as key to future business success. In recognition of this Chess won Cheshire Employer of the Year 2009 and it’s frequently featured in The Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For.

Established in 1993, Chess is known as an opportunities provider assisting many people within the business with training and gaining professional qualifications. Additionally Chess has invested over £500,000 in its Personal Performance Programme – a focused development scheme designed to provide every Chess person with the belief, knowledge, skill and motivation needed to succeed in, and out, of the workplace.

Chess also makes significant investment in external training and professional qualifications in areas such as HR, Marketing, Accountancy and Customer Service. This focus on personal development has led to the rise of many people throughout the business such as present HR Director Anne Binnie who started as a receptionist and Operations Director Julie Wright who has been with Chess since it was founded.

“Chess has ambitious growth plans for the future and the Sales Teams play a key role,” David Pollock, Chess’ Chief Executive explained. “Chess is an opportunities provider and we want to give local people the opportunity to come in and see what we have to offer. We are focused on future growth and see our people as key to this. We invest a lot of money in people development and our business growth journey will be very rewarding for everyone involved. We are focused on setting ourselves apart from the competition and our unique Chess spirit helps us do this. Our spirit inspires us to take steps to have a positive impact on the environment and wider community and we are looking for people to join us in this.”
