Chess' bike to work and car sharing

Green Travel

Wherever possible Chess people are encouraged to use environmentally friendly methods to commute to work.

Chess Telecom’s ‘Bike to Work’ scheme, which enables all Chess people to take advantage of the opportunity to buy tax free bicycles, means around 20% of Chess people regularly cycle to work.
A further 20 - 30% take part in a car share initiative and around 15% use public transport. This vastly reduces carbon emmissions resulting from business travel and a further 20 plus tonnes of carbon are offset each year by Chess’ carbon offsetting loyalty point scheme.

Car Share Case Study

Scott works in Chess' Faults department and car shares with two other Chess people. They all live about 30 miles from the office. "The car scheme is excellent because it saves the planet as well my bank balance. I think Chess' supports the Green Team by letting us start at 8am and finish at 4.30pm to avoid rush hour traffic . It really shows Chess' commitment to saving the May Day Pledges."
